What are the carry rules for Horse Pens 40?

Mike, I am wondering just how legal this is. Isn't there a statute on the books about going armed at a rally or a gathering?

For Georgia, the "Public Gathering" clause was removed with SB308

Alabama, not so good...

It is unlawful for any person to have in his possession, or on his person, or in any vehicle any firearm while participating in or attending any demonstration being held at a public place, or within 1,000 feet of a demonstration after being warned by a police officer.

You 2A activists over in Bama need to get on the ball!

Georgia just got rid of their "public gathering," anti-gun law. :-) Thank you, GeorgiaCarry.Org!

I wondered about this as well, as I am going to try and make it to the Horse Pens 40 gathering. I suppose it hinges on whether this is a "public gathering" or not. Is the park owned by the state?

Hey Fella's, doesn't this have to do with weather or not the piece is loaded? An empty gun is just a hunk of metal...what do the various states/muni codes say about the issue of an "unloaded gun"...if not mistaken all the guns carried in previous events were unloaded and chamber flagged. Open carry is the law in my state (CO).
